Data Lifespan and Security

Retention runs only as long as the original purpose. Once that ends — you unsubscribe, a comment is deleted, an analytics window closes — the data goes. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards including access restriction and transport encryption, while acknowledging that no system is immune to compromise.

When you read maptutors.com, our host and any analytics provider we use may log technical details of the request — IP address, user agent, referring URL, pages and timestamps. Separately, you may choose to give us an email address, post a comment, or write to us, and that information is collected too. Because this site covers Maptutors, one point deserves its own sentence — we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
